Whether this monk achieved sainthood I am not entirely sure, but I believe his dress and hair style identify him as of the Dominican order, and I believe most likely French. I'm a sucker for a holy painting, and think this small one is pretty exquisite--a fine fellow to add to the alter or wall of portraits.
