Great horse. I found this one on a day at Brimfield when I had come across a sequence of nice old carved animals that were priced beyond what I could justify--happily my patience was rewarded. Photos give a good sense, including of its very soulful feeling carved out eyes. The mane and tail I believe are made of straw bristles, with the way the mane falls to one side of the neck I think especially beautiful-looks like it was adhered via small holes cut into the wood, the way a brush would be made. Wonderful.
4 7/8" l x 4 13/16" t x 1 1/4" w. Very good condition. Perhaps a small loss to the foot of one rear leg, but I'm not at all sure--I can't see it, it just seems slightly less square than the rest of the legs. Stands up on its own fine.
