I found this one in Vermont earlier this week, and made the decision to scoop it in one second flat. I'm always looking for things that will make great pedestals for other things, and what better for that than a rustically carved ionic column? Just the right balance of primitive and classical, folky and refined, sculpture and stand--really quite a striking thing, large and with an even larger presence.
16 3/8 x 5 15/16 x 6 1/8 and in good condition. Some splits to the wood here and there due to shrinkage, as documented, but sturdy and stable and stands flush to the ground.
