A beautiful example of a 19th century gouache/watercolor theorem painting, with the urn and flowers cut out and pasted to the backing paper in the true theorem stencil manner. I like this one as much as any I have seen, with its bold, perfectly resolved composition, super rich color, and fine detail. Really a beauty I think, in excellent condition, I would guess mid 19th century.
Sold in the frame I found it in, which is in very good condition. Framed: 21 3/8" x 18 1/4". Sight: 16 1/2" x 13 1/4". Wired on the back for hanging. Some glare captured in photos.
