Extra Large Painted Folk Art Spinning Top

At one point surely there was a string that wrapped around this which one would use to set it spinning, but I like it just as an object now, and rather a patriotic one, too, hand-painted red white and blue. It's about as large a wooden top as I’ve seen, with a satisfying form and metal disks at either end, meaning it could be wound and spun on either end. I’d guess 1940s or so. 

 6 1/4” l x 3 1/4” d and in good condition.
