Every surface and detail of this wonderful antique British tramp art coin bank box is was carefully attended to, making it feel super special and full of surprises. Each panel features collaged images cut from cigarette labels, from the heads of Player's cigarette sailors, to a Churchman's cigarette Box Scout in action, to a bull and image of the "Lights of London" on the underside. The top of the box is a tapering, sliding lid with the a slit for coins at the center--easily removed to empty the bank. And beautiful chip carving on the interlocking crown of thorns type structural framework, which is still holding together very sturdily. Really a beauty!!!
Late 19th/early 20th century and in great condition, with only minor losses to collaged bits and a few very minor dings and stain loss.
7 3/4" wide x 5 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" deep.
