I really love the design of these vintage blocks, made by the Vermont Toy Works company. On one side are numerical numbers, on the flip side the numbers spelled out, and the other two sides are blanks. Set in their wooden tray, all columns are forced to add up to ten, so they're great for learning/teaching some basic math and proportions, but I love them from a design play standpoint--so many possibilities. I could have played around with these for a long time, with the embossed numbers and words lending great additional elements to playing around with color and pattern as one builds. Great.
Tray measures 13 3/8" x 14 3/4". Blocks are about 1 3/8" wide and thick. Good condition, no chips or losses, solid wood that is nice and heavy, general surface wear, all to the good I think. The bottom of the wood tray they site in is stamped Vermont Toy Works.
