I've been staring at this painting for a week now, and every time I look at it I am struck all over again by just how serene and lovely it is--the perfect version of what it wants to be, I'd say, and really luminous. And that radiant red and gold apple in what I take for a Chinese porcelain bowl is, especially, just about the most beautiful painted apple I've ever seen! Just the right soft taupes for the ground and background, too, and just the right period frame. And a bonus portrait on the back-- I'd like to think a self portrait of the painter herself. (otherwise unsigned as far as I can see.)
16 1/2" x 13 3/4" framed. Painting: 14" x 11. Excellent condition, and wired for hanging.
