Clearly it is the most tender, personal, things that appeal to me most, this 1929 framed Bible school report card a case in point, which I purchased from a really good dealer in the Hudson River Valley and paid plenty for, but I could not leave without it. Something about the handwritten categories ("way of life", "rainy day", the corrected swap of "Adam to Saul" and "Twelve Apostles") and these rows of gold and pink stickers (the crescent moons on their sides and crosses most of all) just satisfies my soul, and I never even went to Sunday school! Plus, I always like finding things from 1929, especially those that feel loaded with a sort of optimism that one knows was soon to be challenged. I'll be happy to hold on to this one, but will also be happy to share it with someone who will love it as much as I do.
Sold in the frame I found it in, which I'm guessing a proud parent may have placed it in many years ago. 8 3/4” x 6 3/4” framed; 7 3/4” x 5 3/4” paper. Very good condition.
