A beautiful set, purchased from a fellow color cube connoisseur at the Rhinebeck show. This is one of those scarce and special early sets where there solid "red" side is much more of an orange, and the very best orange at that, and the solid "blue" side is near black. The wood framed box here appears to have been custom made for them long ago, with a thick paperboard bottom that is very sturdy and well attached by fat nails coming up from the underside. As good as they get I'd say, yum yum.
Box frame 10 3/4" x 10 11/16". Blocks 1 1/16" cubed. General wear and aging, just minor paint loss here and there, all to the good, beauty.
