Just in time for Valentine’s Day! So much fun to find this in Vermont this week, with two pieces of fine quality lace spelling out “My Baby,” housed in their original box. The printing on the box indicate that a shopkeeper would have sold the pieces of lace individually (at 10 cents and then later 15 cents it appears) , with specific instructions for how to display them: “leave them in this box. Always keep the blue backing under the greeting on the top so as to attractively show them. The greeting will then attract the eye of your customers— resulting in sales.” Well, they sold me easily, even without the blue backing. And one gets to have not one but two “My Baby”’s! AFC seems to have produced various lace trims and edgings in the early decades of the 20th century.
Box measures 10 7/8" x 2" x 1"t. Lace measures 9 5/8" long. All in very good condition.
