This old school slate provided the perfect surface upon which to paint two different views--get tired of one, just turn it around! I may be a bit partial to the moody seascape, pretty transportive in its deep aqua blues, with glowy full moon and one ship sailing along in the distance, but the snowy landscape with bird perched on fence like a watchful guardian in the foreground is pretty great too! Late 19th/early 20th century I would guess, with the seascape initialed L.N at bottom right.
8 7/8" x 6 1/2" x 3/8", overall very good condition. There is a small corner loss to the slate, no real matter, and a couple of pretty minor surface scratches on the seascape aside as pictured, a bit more pronounced in photos than actually. Sturdy and sound.
