Double-sided Inuit Soapstone Carving with Figures and Eagle

Regular price $55.00

I may especially love this Inuit piece because the expressions and postures of the two figures remind me EXACTLY of photographs of my older brother and I playing in the snow when we are kids! But I think I'd find it wonderful regardless, for the details on their parkas and pants in addition to those great faces, and also for the way their are cropped and lean a little right, as if trying to match the angle of the stone. And on reverse, a lovely bird, an eagle I think, which seems perhaps a protector or protectress of the figures.

Signed on the bottom in Inuktitut with a disc number.  I am not certain of the age but might think c. 1970s or 80s. 4 1/8" wide x 2 3/4" tall x 1 5/8" deep. Excellent condition.
