Don't Say I Can't, Simply Framed 19th Century Ink Lettering on Pale Blue Paper

Regular price $75.00

This felt like a good one to list as we celebrate the lives, and mourn the loss, of Dolly and Gloria--two women who blazed bold, wildly impactful paths through vast fields of opposition. This is a 19th century ink lettered text, I presume done as schoolwork, a penmanship (and maybe punctuation) exercise of sorts (quote marks right but they missed the apostrophes!) Of course writing exercises were always also behavior and morality lessons, as was certainly the case here. Black ink on pretty, pale blue paper.

8 3/4" x 6 1/8" framed. Corner losses and a few small holes as evident. Ink very strong on bold. I just popped it in this simple wooden frame, just floating (not attached) on a piece of archival mat board, under glass.
