Such a charming couple! I actually found the girl doll at left first, and then the boy a few months later, but as they are of the same ilk--both made in the Soviet Union in the 1930s or so--and seem well suited to one another, I think good to keep them together! (if you really want only one, though, give me a shout.)
The heads I believe are composition, hand-painted, and the peasant-style clothing carefully sewn in a wonderful mix of colors and patterns.Their bodies are cloth over wire, such that their arms and legs can be moved a bit. Perhaps best of all are her little crocheted booties!
Overall very good condition, with a couple of scrapes to his cheek. He is 4 3/4" tall; she is 4 3/8".
