I am quite smitten with this tiny, gorgeously hand-painted little porcelain man rising from this curious round, unglazed base, but I don't know anything about him. I assume with his bald head, long beard, and colorful kimono, that he represents a Buddhist monk but I really have no idea of his age, and have not found another quite like him. He is certainly quite finely painted and feels to me like a pretty special little piece--and surely perching him nearby will bring wisdom and luck!
2 1/4" tall x 1 3/4" wide and deep the figure himself measures 1 1/2" tall. Very good condition, with no clips or cracks; there is some darkening to the bisque base.
