A few weeks ago, I found a stone carved figure in Maine clearly made by the same person as this one, and upon going back to source found this one which I had missed the first time around. With the hair the figure looks female to me, and, especially based on the other (one photo included in pics) think perhaps meant to represent an athlete of some sort, perhaps preparing to get on her feet, push off, and run. I love the sense of poise and latent power she evinces, and the sense that all of her focus in on what lies ahead, and that she feels as if she might have existed forever. Wonderfully done, and to my eye just wonderful.
2 5/16" t x 2 7/8" w x 3" deepest and in very good condition. There appears to be a carved signature and year on the underside, maybe DWR '92, but it is a bit difficult to decipher.
