I wouldn't have predicted I'd go in for a carved gourd figure, but I think this guy is fabulous, with carved twigs for arms and legs and just the sort of awkward and open face that would make me fall for a carving of any sort. With a cap made from the opposite end of the gourd, which was cut off to expose the legs. (Looking up the skirt one can see the bark was left on most of them.) Great all the way around, with a terrific surface too.
16" t x 5 1/2" diameter at base. Very good vintage condition, I'd guess mid 20th c. or so. Stands sturdy and straight on its flat base.
