I believe this is an early one (c. 1830s would be my guess), which immediately reminded of my favorite folding fan ever, hand-dyed with stripes just like this, but that one stenciled with the letters of the alphabet. No alphabet here, but the colors are beautiful, and with gold along the edge.
Closed 9 5/8" x 13/16" x 7/8". Opens to 16 3/4" measured corner to corner. Some creasing across the center, best understood via photos of the reverse--they pretty much fall away when hung or placed, but they are there.
