Pure joyful color! I believe this was meant to be made into a potholder, or perhaps a large pin cushion, but it was never backed (which I think is a good thing, as one gets to see the back!) It could be made into either, yet, but I might be inclined to frame it as is--c. 1870s or so I believe but looking ultra modern.
4 1/4" x 4" and in very good condition, clean and crisp, with super saturated color and neatly hand-stitched hem on reverse. There are just a couple of lost stitches, as documented. No real top or bottom.
