I was drawn to the drama of this one, which I take for an allegory of sorts, with what I take as an eagle (though could be a hawk?) coming to the rescue of the dove that has been tethered by a fox (or coyote?) An American eagle as the savior might be a bit much, so I'm glad it's more broadly archetypal here, and certainly it is the dove that captures my empathy, very sweetly done, especially with head pointed forward as pdf looking toward its future after rescue! Seems to me a good one to live with as it maps on to / applies to the dynamics of a whole lot of different situations (and might encourage one to strive to be a force for good!)
Framed, as found, 14 1/4" x 11 1/4". Visible image: 10 3/8" x 7 1/2". There is a gray patch at upper right that might be a stain, I'm not completely sure, but otherwise good condition, as is the frame, with what I believe is a pretty recently done matte around it. Colored pencil and pastel on paper.
