I understand that these cards were originally patented by the Fireside Game Co. in 1896 to commemorate the first modern Olympic Games held that year. In 1900, Fireside changed its name to The Cincinnati Game Co, which appears on this deck, which I believe date to around that year. I really love the look of them, and certainly they provide a history lesson relative to the appearance of world flags at the end of the 19th century and colonies held at that time, and also a geography lesson for young (and maybe some old!) players too as they are in large part grouped by proximity. The rules are pretty much like rummy, as one tries to lay down sets of the same letter.
This is a complete deck of 52 cards plus Crown Card, and 1 card listing all available games, all in great shape, and with their original box. Box measures 4 7/8" x 2 7/8" 7/8'
