Chicago World’s Fair 1893 Ferris Wheel Glass Paperweight

Regular price $32.00

A fun piece of history, this antique glass paperweight was an “Official Souvenir” of the Ferris wheel’s debut at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893. On the face is a sepia tone image of the giant attraction, and on the back are printed lots of details bout the Ferris Wheel’s construction--diameter of 45 feet, holding 36 cars, accommodating 60 people, lasting 20 minutes for a trip, etc. Produced by Lovejoy & Co, Chicago, with 1890 handwritten in pen on reverse, though the fair took place in 1893.

There is a blue painted border under the glass on the sides, which shows age, but overall very good condition. 3” in diameter x 1” tall.
