The combination of red painted wooden frame and silver tin drawers arranged in a neat grid on this little wallhanging hardware chest really does it for me, sweetly homemade and also smart looking--and with a handy shelf at top for the miscellaneous! The handles on the face of the drawers were soldered on, and most of them were lined in paper that looks to have been salvaged from anti-freeze packaging. Good for organizing screws and nails or any sort of bits and bobs, with the drawers easily removed and rearranged.
8 5/8" w x 7 1/2" t x 4 5/8" d and in good condition, mid 20th c. or so I would guess. Sturdy and sound. The drawers are packed in pretty tight, but easily pull out with a little pressure.
