Whoever made this charmer threw everything but the kitchen sink inside of it I think, there's some crinkling of what what I think are plastic bags inside the legs, and something that feels kind of like a small hot water bottle inside the torso, which makes its back stand up straight (and perhaps it once made a squeak, I don't know)! The person who sold it to me thought depression era; I'm not completely sure, but it most certainly has a make-do sensibility, and no great finesse was applied to some of the stitching, which is part of what I love about it. And then that face, with some orange paint or stain for the cheeks and mouth, these fantastic starry eyes and stitches along the border that both hold it on and give it a hairline. Hard not to feel a little happier with this around.
19 1/2" tall x about 6 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" deep. Very good condition and all of the seams seem to be holding tight.
