Charles Goodall London Antique Double Nine Playing Card Dominoes

Regular price $30.00

I was pretty excited to find these antique domino playing cards, produced by Charles Goodall & Son of London, c. 1910. I'm a big fan of dominoes but had never seen a set produced as playing cards before, and indeed have learned they are pretty rare--and this set all the rarer for being double nines rather than double sixes--and all 55 of them are here! They fit snugly in their original box, small enough to put in your pocket and take anywhere. I especially the yellow borders and how each card features a mini version of itself in the far corners.

These show a good amount of wear to the front and back surfaces (the backsides feature a sweet red flower print, especially well worn around the edges)-- all as pictured--but I haven't found a notable tear on them, and I'd say they have many years of play left in them. Cards measure approx 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" each. Box--which is well worn and features old blue tape along one edge as reinforcement--measures 2 1/2" tall x 1 1/2"w  x 2 1/8" d.
