What a fabulous little woman-shaped clay whistle! I think she’s Mexican and I love everything about her, from her great red hat with white and blue stripes, to her red lips, to the sun- or star-like pattern surrounding the hole of the whistle, to her proud profile, which makes me think of a carved figurehead on the prow of a ship. Plus, she whistles!
The whistle is in great shaped structurally but its surface shows some age and wear, with some loss/cracking of paint on the face, which I think really adds to its charm. 1 7/8” l x 1” w x 2 1/4” t.
