I really really love the how the face on this carving is not at all what one might expect based on the rest of her, which makes one think it is likely a specific portrait. Though the subject seems perhaps to have been a somewhat reluctant model--eyes apparently closed, one hand gripping the edge of the base pretty tightly it seems-- I'd like to think the carver found her the sexiest woman in the world!
Mid-century or so I would guess. The finish on her head and chest is duller than the rest of her, making me wonder if the maker began painting her then changed their mind and stripped the paint. Otherwise, great condition, and overall really pretty fabulous I think. 7 1/2" long x 6 7/8" tall x 2" deep.
