This is one of a a number of old pine carved whimsies I purchased together and believe were all made by one American carver, first half of the 20th century I believe. Skillfully done but chunky in form, with a great warm patina to the dry wood, and all carved from one piece of wood with no notable chips, cracks or splits. Good for hanging from one nail on the wall or just setting somewhere--or use it as a door knocker!
6 1/4" l x 1 1/8" wide and deep; links are about 1 3/4" long each.
