Another one better in hand than in photos, as it's a but hard to avoid glare on the glass while capturing it--detail photos are better. C. 1840s I believe, purchased from a dealer in my neck of the woods who pulled it out of an old estate, with the W of the monogram standing for that family's name, Wilson. I couldn't resist her red cheeks and red shoes with terrific blue dress in between, and of course the little dig tugging it at the hem of it! Wool yarn I believe, on what looks to me like a wide woven cotton/linen, almost like burlap.
12 3/8 x 11 11/16 sight: 8 x 8 3/4. Framed as found, as it appears to have lived for a long time--stretched over a wooden frame with an old gold painted wood frame around it, under glass. Newer nails recently used to shore it up in the frame. Very good condition, with a bit of toning/darkening to the near the top of the embroidery.
