Brown Glazed Antique Stoneware Miniature Boot and Shoe

Regular price $55.00

I bought this boot and shoe together and think they make a really wonderful pair, so am selling them together. I've searched a bunch and found similar ones described as late 19th century Rockingham glazed and as Bennington flint glazed, both referring to the brown glaze which originated at Rockingham Pottery in England and then was most famously employed at Bennington Pottery in Vermont. Whatever the case, the date seems about right, and they are quite fine little things. The shoe is impressed/embossed with what I believe is known as a "Daisy & Button" design, and the boot features nice detailing on the seams as well. And both are hollow on the interiors so that teeny tiny things might be stored inside!

The boot measures 2" tall x 1 1/2" long. The shoe 1" tall x 1 1/4" long. There appears to be a tiny chip on one side of the foot of the boot near to the toe, very minor and shown shot at 2x magnification. SOLD AS A PAIR.
