I think everyone needs a set of Color Cubes around--a creative and satisfying diversion, and no matter how you arrange them, great looking patterns emerge. These are well worn, which I think lends a nice softness around the edges.
These I believe were made by the Embossing Company, Albany, NY--intended as teaching toys, to "teach designing, initiative, colors, concentration, symmetry, observation and patience.” No box, or boxes--I believe this is a few sets combined long ago, as the largest sets I know of were of 49 blocks. 72 here blocks total. Each cube measures 1 1/16" square.
