As I've said before, the diversity of messages on these old punch/perforated paper needlepoints just kills me, and here is a perfect case in point! I'd love to know exactly the context in which this one was stitched--perhaps by a young woman recently betrayed? Or by her mother, sending her a message?! Whatever the case, quite a thing, made all the better by the period at the end of the phrase; no equivocation there! And with a loss to the lower left corner and other tiny one at upper left that seem rather apt!
7 11/16” x 5 3/8” framed, as found. Needlepoint itself is 6 3/8” x 3 1/8”. Corner losses as evident; otherwise very good condition as is the frame.
