When I bring a bunch of stuff home from a picking excursion, I usually lay everything out on the floor or table, a process which tests how things hold up against one another and often helps me to understand what's especially good. I didn't think too much about this small hand-stitched Pennsylvania doll quilt when I scooped it, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite things—wonderful color and pattern, excellent side by side with ANYTHING, satisfying like a kindergarten paper weaving or great set of blocks, and I really love the zig zag edges. I’d treat it like a painting and frame it, or hang it directly on the wall. I'm not at all a quilt expert but guess early 20th c.
10 5/8” x 7 3/4” and in good condition, no holes or loose seams, just the right sort of wear and fading, and a little minor staining here and there.
