I walk past a lot of baskets in these parts, but the color on this one, woven of ash splint I believe, struck me as especially beautiful, with the pattern of the way the splint has weathered amplifying the woven construction of the basket in just the right way. It has definitely lived a life--there is a bit of loss visible on one side particularly, and it slants a bit when viewed from that direction--but it's the age and wear that really makes it. Native American, Micmac I believe though am not 100% certain.
9 3/4" wide x 9" deep x 6 1/2" tall. Sound and stable and fairly sturdy, but I would not carry around things with much weight in it.
