A small needlepoint, and a very sweet one, which feels like a miniature welcome mat to me, and which I'd be inclined to frame and hang near the front door. (I didn't have the right frame around or I would have, I think it wants a nice wide edged black or grain painted one around it.) I believe mid 19th century or so, hand-dyed wool, I presume cut down from a larger piece, but with those rounded corners it feels like its own resolved thing. And feels very holiday festive too.
6 1/8" x 4". Good antique condition, stable, a few scattered lost stitches, minor. Found in MA and surely of New England.
