There is something about a framed long view of a far landscape that feels deeply existential and really does it for me---the contrast between the black curtains and distant hills a perfect distillation of the tension between here and there. And so one could view a photo like this as all about longing, or possibility--or the void! Very atmospheric as well as succinct.
