It makes me very happy to find a box that someone has left just as found, and this one--filled with various sorts of fishing line, an old painted bobber, and a collapsible tin cup--felt as if it was waiting just for me. I've got a special weakness for string wound around scraps of wood, which I find beautiful things, and clearly the person who kept this box let nothing go to waste, using clothes pins, whole or broken, to wind even short lengths of filament. All packed into a c. 1930s lithographed chocolate tin from the Old Pickwick Inn, with wear that tells us that this tin was likely carried along on many a fishing trip.
Box measures 6 3/8" x 4 1/8" x 2 7/8". All contents included.
