A very tender 19th century small hand-quilted piecework doll quilt, custom made for a doll with a four poster bed, with the cut in corners at the foot shaped to accommodate the bed's corner posts. The shape, together with the one patch gridded pattern, makes it feel to me like an especially nice one to be situated in conversation with a modernist/minimalist abstraction.
10 3/4" x 9 1/2". Toning to the fabric for sure, and general wear and aging to the fabric, with small losses to the striped patches here and there, as shown. Stable and sound and not fragile.
