I believe the porcelain lower legs here, with their hand-painted blue bows and brown shoes, date to the 1880s or so, and were carefully sewn onto the sawdust stuffed upper legs--which at some point lost their body! Of course I can't resist things like this--just as objects, which could also be used as pin cushions, or which could be sold onto a doll needing a lovely pair of legs! The tops are partially open, pinned for now just with small safety pins, but I'm happy to close them up with a few stitches--just ask and I'll do before sending!
Each leg measures about 7 1/2" l. The porcelain lower legs feet are about 2 1/2" l and are in excellent condition. A little wear to the linen on the stuffed legs in a couple of spits but no true holes or leaks (other than at the top open seams.) Sold as a pair.
