Silver moon, silver star, and silver laurel wreath--surely a lucky little box! A 19th c papier snuff box I believe, well worn, but lovely still--perhaps just right for stashing silver dollars, or silver earrings! The black surface appears more like paint than lacquer, and the silver decoration adhered rather than painted on.
2 3/4" in diameter. General wear and a bit of loss around the lip of the bottom half, pretty minor and not visible when closed.
