This trivet-scale piece would once have been part of a larger mat, with the iron hearts making a useful surface for scraping shoes and boots across. I think it's just the right size as found, lovely just hung on the wall and casting nice shadows, too.
5 1/4" x 4 3/8" x 5/16". Late 19th/early 20th century, with nice rusting to the surface of the iron.
