(Both sides pictured in first photo.) Two more (my last) of these this week--this and one other just listed, both to my eye and sensibilities completely delicious, and happily there are two sides to enjoy. (Of course I'd love to have the whole ledger this came from, but it would have been a massive thing to carry around!) I purchased five leafs from wonderful dealer friends at the Taconic show (all they had) and would be happy to have them surrounding me for the rest of my life. The year 1929 is written among the sample numbers on one page (not this one); the colors and patterns are glorious and wonderfully bold on this example; and I think the loss of a handful of swatches disrupts the precision of the grid in a great way, lending a sense of rhythm and syncopation. All are finely woven flannels, with a beautiful spectrum of colors and patterns represented.
19 1/2" x 14 1/2". Good condition. 1929. I had to shoot this under fluorescent lights (which I hate) due to its scale...it's all the more beautiful and of course tactile too, in hand.) A few samples missing as evident, fabrics themselves in very good condition. General wear and some toning/staining around the edges of the paper.
