Andaluciana, 1966 Graphite Signed Etching by David Bumbeck (American, 1940-2026)

Regular price $100.00

I had an immediate attachment to this etching, but only when I got home and started doing a bit of research did I realize I grew up living with an etching (also of a nude, and I think likely this same woman) by this artist--David Bumbeck. So, no wonder--I've known her my whole life! And quite a beauty of an ethcing in any regard. Plenty about Bumbeck out there, American, 1940-2026 (deceased this May.)

Bumbeck received his BFA from RISD, MFA from Syracuse, taught printmaking, painting and drawing at the Massachusetts College of Art and then Middlebury as Professor of Art for 34 years, where he also directed the Christian A. Johnson Gallery. His work is included in  collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Boston Public Libraries, the Smithsonian, Carnegie Museum of Art and the Library of Congress.
