I spent a number of years working on Broadway in downtown New York just a handful of blocks from where 329 once was--an address I've learned that no longer exists (just 325, then 341.) This envelope appealed for making me imagine that stretch of lower Broadway in 1893, as well as just for the beauty of the boldly inked cursive, perfectly punctuated with pale blue 1 cent indicia and diagonally striped cancellation over top. A nice little piece of NYC history, speaking to the ever evolving cityscape.
6 5/16" x 3 1/2". Good condition, with a bit of nice bleed to the black ink.
