19th Century Three Pineapples Watercolor Drawing in Great Period Frame

Regular price $160.00

This pencil and watercolor drawing was probably a sketch in advance of a larger theorem painting, but I personally prefer the looseness of the sketch! What especially drew me to it was the pineapples, long a symbol of friendship and hospitality, and so making this a nice one to hang near the front door by way of welcome. I also love the dramatic stems and pencil-drawn flourished around them, looking rather like lightening bolts! And sold as found in a beautiful 19th century wide wooden frame with jointed corners.

Framed: 18 1/2" x 15 3/8". Sight: 14 3/8" x 11 3/8". Some scattered water stains to the watercolor and a rough/torn bottle left edge. Frame is in very good condition. A bit of glare in photos.
