The pieced homespun woolen fabric with red applique on this 19th century pine stool made my heart race when I found it--purchased from a dealer who pulled it out of an old estate in Concord, NH I believe. It is everything I love, and I love everything about it, with the textile making a very humble stool a very special one. And I do believe it has been on there for a very long time, secured with a mish mosh of hand-forged iron nails, many of them square head; probably there was some trim, now lost, but some red wood remnants remain stuck behind the mails. Great dry patina to the pine, super sweet thing.
11 1/4" x 7" x 7 1/2" t. Good antique condition, much loved and worn, all to the good I think, stable and sound.
