A little damage to this antique landscape, but I liked it too much to pass it by. Found in New Hampshire and surely painted somewhere in New England, mid-late 19th century I believe, I like it for its bucolic quietness, with scattering of houses and church steeple visible on the far bank, and then these two cozy looking houses nestled amid the trees at left.
8" x 12". Oil on canvas nailed to wood frame. A little paint loss along the left edge in addition to stains along the right edge and over the water.
