19th Century Hinged Tole Book Shaped Box with Remnants of Black and Red Paint

I've rarely met a book shaped box I didn't like, and here's another--this one 19th century and made of tin, with hinged "cover" that opens, large enough to store another book inside, or a bunch of love letters. And with remnants of original red paint still hiolding on the "pages", it does seem the latter use would be appropriate! Remnants of black paint on the front and back too, lending a bit of a marbled paper effect.

8 3/8 x 5 3/4 x 1 15/16". Very good structural condition, with just remnants of original black and red paint as shown. Lid opens easily and closes flush, with hinges in good shape.
