I've bought and sold a few lacquered papier mache snuff boxes, shoe shaped and otherwise, but I've never seen a red one, with a heel to boot, making one think of Dorothy clicking her heels to get back home. Just right.
3 1/8” l x 1” w x 1 1/4” t and in very good structural condition. with some loss to the red lacquer as evident, all to good in my opinion, as it has travelled long and far. Early-mid 19th c. I believe.
